BURTON - Senior Moriah Thompson had 14 kills and 18 digs to lead Byron to its fifth consecutive district volleyball championship Thursday.

The Eagles defeated Burton Atherton 25-8, 13-25, 25-22, 25-10 in the Class C district final at Burton Bendle.

Byron (25-22-5) will advance to the Class C regionals next Tuesday at Leslie High School. The Eagles will play at 8 p.m. vs. the Albion district champion.

Byron coach Karly Cocke said her squad served consistently and did not make an abundance of mistakes.
