Age 48, of Owosso, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009.

In 2007, Jeff founded The Birth House Recording Studio in Owosso. He also had worked as a recording engineer in Los Angeles, Calif. for 20 years.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, at the Owosso Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Rick Merling officiating. The family will receive friends at Nelson-House Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 to 9 p.m., with the family present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m.

Jeff was born on Dec. 5, 1960, in Owosso, the son of James Howard and Nancy (Green) Park. He graduated from Owosso High School with the class of 1979, and from Michigan State University in 1983 with a bachelor's degree in telecommunications, after which he moved to California to work as a freelance recording engineer.

He worked with Westwood One Radio Networks in Los Angeles. After returning to Owosso in 2003, he began a local musical career combining his drumming, producing and recording talents with the band “The Choir Visible” (formerly No Other Name), a contemporary Christian worship band and ministry, in addition to playing in the band “Big Thunder.”

Jeff was an active member of Christ Vineyard Church where he was a small group leader and worship team member. He was an avid MSU Spartan fan and loved being back in Michigan with his family. One of his favorite hobbies was salmon fishing in Frankfort. He will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his parents Dr. James (Nancy) Park of Owosso; brother Scott G. (Elizabeth) Park of Lansing; sisters Sara (Dale) Frye of Holland and Laura Park-Hoffa of Owosso; nieces and nephews, Kayla, Margaret and Bradley Park of Lansing and David and Janie Hoffa of Owosso.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Christ Vineyard Church.
