Corunna - A Lansing man pleaded guilty to seven counts of felony home invasion charges Tuesday in Shiawassee County Circuit Court.

Adam P. Kaser, 28, told Judge Gerald Lostracco how he, aided by co-defendant Jynell Veverka-Dyer, broke into several homes in Ingham, Livingston and Shiawassee counties.

“We mostly took cash and jewelry,” Kaser said.

He also explained he did not know any of the homeowners and had a weapon for forcible entry, but never intended to use the weapon.

Kaser and Veverka-Dyer stole the items to later sell to pawn shops.

Lostracco will sentence Kaser Aug. 1.

Veverka-Dyer pleaded guilty to seven counts of felony home invasion charges June 2 in Shiawassee County Circuit Court.

Veverka-Dyer appears for sentencing July 18.

Court records show from March to September 2007 the two broke into six homes on Colby Lake, Winegar, Bath, Shaftsburg and Leyland roads, resulting in six counts of home invasion. The seventh charge was for conspiracy to commit home invasion.

Kaser is in prison in Ionia, serving a maximum of 40 years after pleading guilty to eight separate counts of second-degree home invasion in Clinton and Livingston counties.

Veverka-Dyer is in prison in Ypsilanti, serving a maximum of 15 years. She pleaded guilty in March to eight separate counts of second-degree home invasion in Clinton and Livingston counties.
